Jack McRitchie 150 Posted August 22, 2016 I imagine this was a time exposure. The thin line of light that crosses the ship's bow just above the pier together with the effective lighting in general and the various mooring lines and electrical cables gives me the feeling of an ephemeral ghost ships that is lightly tethered to our world. M_Lipakis 3 Posted August 23, 2016 Time exposure indeed Jack. The line on the sky are the trails from a taking off plane. Thanks for dropping by. Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted August 24, 2016 Really good. I cannot put into words why I made a crop but I think it represents my sense of 'balance'. I never recommend that mine is better but for you to see what I 'see' and then for you to decide if you like it or not. Link to comment
M_Lipakis 3 Posted August 24, 2016 Gregory/Verena and Tony thanks for stopping by.Tony i want those light trails in the frame but on the other hand found your idea interesting so here is where i ended up. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted August 24, 2016 Yeah I think Tony's idea is interesting but your final version is the winner (though I'd add a millimeter or two more sky on top). I didn't realize those were light trails due to the long exposure. I actually though they were electrical lines. Regardless, they belong in the picture. Link to comment
