Magical eyes and stare. She surely feels protected and cared about in this shot. I only wish her forelock was also in focus. Btw, is that chewing gum?

VS, No she isn't chewing gum. It was a shred of cloth she was chewing on. I don't think having her hair in focus would help anything. I think one is immediately drawn to her eyes. I am puzzeled as to why her hair isn't in focus though. Her eyes are and her grandfather's sweater are both in focus. Perhaps her forhead is titled closer to the lens then her eyes.

As you mentioned it, I am now puzzled as well. With F/5 her hair has to be surely in focus and we can see her hands and sleeves nicely in focus.

It is not a big deal though - all that matters is her eyes!

Great eyes!  That's what this image is about.  Maybe her fuzzy forehead hair was caught in a light breeze, but it doesn't matter.  Nice capture.
