Late Afternoon Shadows #2

Not only the street. The sun cast shadows, always and everywhere. It is you the observer that reveals the beauty.

People come down this sidewalk.  I wonder where they are.  I wonder what stories they would tell.  The sidewalk is here, but it goes somewhere, just as the people do.  Yet, this place, stationary though it may be, has a certain solidity reality, even a certain poignancy. If the concrete could speak, or the leaves and the gravel, the would say, I believe, "We are here, too.  We matter."
