It's hard to imagine that rock sofa is a natural formation but even if it is man-made, it certainly fits into the landscape perfectly. I think this would be equally effective in b&w.

This image reflects the cool moist atmosphere of a warm summer day in the forest perfectly. OK, maybe it's just my wishful thinking after too many 90+ degree weeks on the east coast, but it looks very inviting to take a seat.

Do you have any further information about the rock "sofa"? It certainly is an intriguing feature.

I did some research about the stone bench, and so far could not find any information about its history and construction.  I'm not giving up, though.

I thoroughly appreciate your kind words.  Actually, since the entire trail leading to the falls from the visitor center is well shaded, as a whole it is a refuge from the heat.  The bench does provide additional opportunities to cool off.
