used an Olympus 4/3rds and 300mm F4 lensDeborah Allen's comments on this Kentucky Warbler: "The bird looks like a female, but I can't be sure if an adult or first-fall. In fall: the brown crown is usually seen in young females (adult female's crown grayer), but the yellow spectacle is a bit brighter than what I'd expect on a young bird. However the brightness and extent of the yellow spectacle may not be an important character in differentiating between the two age classes. I can't see the tail feathers to judge the shape - adult's are blunt, young birds tapered. This species is very difficult to age.If it had a grayer crown I'd be undecided between adult female and young male. With the crown brown like this it's a toss-up between young female & adult female."
