Many times people disguise a bad photograph or an uninteresting photograph with filters, and this seems to fall into that category.

Hi Ken, I like this for it's gothic feel and its abstract nature, not sure about the background as it's a tiny bit distracting, maybe darkening the tree limbs  further would focus the attention on the lantern. Said with all due respect and honesty. Just my 2 cents as they say. Overall I like the image.
