You are reminding me of Vivian Maier a tad Jack - but with you excellent twist on it. I like the graininess of the capture and what appears to be an industrial background. No it's not industrial - I see hangers....but there is something about the reflection, not sure if it is books? At least it is a 'selfie' that isn't purely self indulgent....there at least is a story here - but I've not got it nailed down yet - but maybe I wasn't meant to - perhaps a totally whimsical moment and interesting elements that you fancied. All I know is I like it.

You are becoming a digital entity!  So this is how you sneak around the town getting such great street shots: you blend in.

I stared it a bit longer than normal before reading any of the comments and a strong feeling of 'anonymous' came through not just because the face is non-evident but there are portions that are very dark and without details. I trust that all is well and this is not symbolic of your current mood or the state of the world.

Thanks for your comments on this picture. Tony brings up an interesting point. In some ways the pictures I take reflect my internal temperament and as he astutely noted, it is a bit unsettled right now, a reaction to what's going on in the world combined with a kind of a blah period for me personally. Nothing too serious; these things come and go, a combination of hot weather, a nasty heat rash, laziness and some minor business set backs that I let effect me far more than they should. I never go too far down though and keep clicking away regardless, simply noting the kind of pictures I produce. They're always a pretty decent barometer of my present state of mind. Anyway, the clouds are already beginning to part (though this rash continues to drive me crazy) so It will be interesting to see if a change in my outlook will be reflected in my pictures over the next few weeks. Thanks again for your support. Regards, Jack

As log as you  able  to photograph yourself in the  mirror, and  the  mirror show a person is  ok. The complexity come, hen you shot  the  picture  in the mirror  and  you get a photograph of  the  mirror only, without you.

This  continuous  hot  summer  wether  taken a tool on me too. The rapid  changing  from 25C to #36C  is  killing my joints and  couple of  other thing  and  mood too.  Hope the best for you Jack.

Thanks. We've been having some really hot weather here in Osaka, too. It sure doesn't make you feel like taking your camera and going out in the oven-like heat to photograph. That's alright because I'm about a year behind in editing my photos and I can do that in an air-conditioned apartment. Stay cool. Regards, Jack

Hello my dear friend Jack: Long....long time without contact. "Time" as you can probably gather from my book is an enormously encompassing term. I am purposefully away from PH as you probably know. I only peeked here, in your portfolio to see what was going on... I was absolutely blown away by this most intriguing and superlative photograph. Just love it! A sign or our times. Nay, a glimpse of the future. B&W....exceedingly befitting. Bar codes for and from the future...human being in transition. A true masterpiece. I am fully rewarded to go into PN, directly to your portfolio, to find a treasure. And I did. I'm satisfied...rewarded....belly full...Thank you Jack. Thank you indeed for opening a door to a new photographic dimension. All psychological comments aside, the contrast here is just perfect, the tonal range from total black to total white....hmmm....exquisite. Thanks for the graphic banquet. Most personal, special regards.
