Happy 1st Birthcake Layla!!!

There is a Graphic Artist whose illustrations I really enjoy for

Children's images. This one was for Layla's 1st Year Album. I had

done another image with these Graphics and Jesse's fiancé Jen

emailed the image to the baker who printed it out in Edible Icing. I

never knew this could be done until I saw the cake. It is in the

bottom right of the image. I know this is not pure Photography but I

hope you enjoy it in the sense that the image was made. Many

I do enjoy it.  It looks like Layla does too!  That's a fabulous cake! Really like the elements surrounding her here.  And her blue eyes --- wow!

thanks so much Donna!!  I just needed to get rid of the white door frame in the shot but didn't manage to do that so well. I may go back and try again.  It is nice to work on something whimsical and that I know Layla will have for a lifetime.  So good to talk to you :)

I was thinking she would love to have this for her whole life.  

You are so right - I should send you some of the shots of her opening her Album on her Birthday - she was so interested in the photos in it!

thanks Tony. She was a bit under the weather that day so we didn't let her get to the cake smash stage. (teething and ear infection - she has had a rough couple of months but doing better now). 

A year old already, time flies. I like the idea and how you've put it together Gail. It will become a treasured memory. I find that most children are fascinated by images of themselves and will pick themselves out from a group of pictures....a recognition thing I suppose.

I use frames like this for my photos.  It's a wonderful way to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday.  It's a sweet image of your beautiful granddaughter!

Yes time does fly - hard to believe - but while she is very much on the move - she is so beautifully petite - I marvel every time I see her out racing towards the horses at the farm next door - for such a tiny tyke she sure is fast and light on her feet :)  Yes, this is part of her Book Of Memories. Hi Rob, such lovely words.......thank you.  Her name is Layla Evangeline - I love it so much.............they are only little for such a short time - I don't have hardly any image of me when I was young and then for my children, I don't have as many as I would like - half the time I could not afford to process the film - and my parents lived far away - but Dad always took good pics when he could.  Nice that we have so many digital alternatives now :) many thanks for taking the time to stop by,

She is no more loved than any of the other Grandchildren - but she is now the youngest - awhile since we have had a baby to play with and love.  But our first Great Grandson was born on Monday around 12:30 am!
