Cyclone Winston in Feb, 2016 destroyed immense amounts of coral around

Fiji. The staghorn coral (in contrast to globe and saucer shaped coral seems

to have suffered the most damage as illustrated in this photo. But who knows;

maybe part of it was already dead due environmental factors before the

cyclone.

Quite a graphic shot. Hundred and hundreds of years of growth wiped out in the matter of a few hours.The earth doesn't care; it has eons to evolve and change. It's man that must adapt to the rapid changes in the environment, much of it the product of our own actions..
