Jack McRitchie 150 Posted July 25, 2016 I think this is a good one, Lannie. The composition is excellent with the contrast between the entrance to the shadowy cemetary and the ordinary life going on in the distance. The enclosing brick wall and the two stone posts flanking the gate mark this as a place apart. I like the sepia toning but feel that it's just a touch too warm. Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted July 25, 2016 I guess you mean too saturated, Jack. I was worried about that, as well as over-processing in general. --Lannie Link to comment
JPPhoto1664880217 2 Posted July 26, 2016 This looks like a southern cemetery taken at the turn of the century (19th to 20th century). Was this your intent?Jim Phelps Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted July 26, 2016 Jim, I suspect that the walls and pillars do go back that far. The graves go way, way back before that--it is a very old Lutheran cemetery. Some Confederate dead are buried here as well. --Lannie Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted July 28, 2016 Jim, yes, it also simulates an older style of photography, not just an old subject. Even so, I was not tying for anything in particular. --Lannie Link to comment
