Standing 4 metres high in Lichfield Market Place the statue of James

Boswell (1740-1795) biographer and diarist. This statue was erected

in 1908 and in recent years the iron fence surrounding it was

removed as the Grad II listed monument was considered "as not at

risk". All comments welcome, thank you.

For me humour, not disrespect. Interesting things you see, and your take is very good, simple but effective.

Hi Ken, The image makes me think of Elton John initially. I see humor in this but I'm sure some people may take it the other way.

BR, Holger

Thanks for all the comments and opinions. Yes must admit when I spotted the shades it made me and several other people laugh, we all saw the humour and I didn't hear any complaints so no harm done. Best regards Ken.
