Cirrus clouds over the Riga Plateau in western Connecticut. Just came

back from a very exciting but hot summer hike along the AT in MA and

CT. This was taken towards the end of the hike with visions of ice

cream looming larger and larger.

Thanks for stopping by. Your observations, comments and suggestions

are always welcome.

The clouds are quite beautiful, but the land doesn't match the beauty of the sky IMHO. It's a good image nonetheless.

You just insulted my home state. :-) No worries Jose, you are absolutely correct! The clouds were amazing, the land is - well, western Connecticut, which is known for its subtle beauty rather than breathtaking landscapes.

I actually thought long and hard about cropping the hill. That would have turned the image into an abstract. Yesterday, however, having just hiked that hill and a dozen more in a very humid 90 degrees I felt it was right to give those hills their dues and crop the image as a landscape rather than an abstract. Those two options had already been on my mind when taking the photo. I included the hills because I wanted to keep my options and I only carried one lens which did not allow me to zoom in any farther. A final reason was that I couldn't come up with a really good crop at the base of the clouds.

Thank you for your comment Jose. It always good to learn how others see one's images, and I add a  little bonus crop.

Thank you, I am glad you like it. I struggled with the lower edge and am still not happy with it. Well, this week's it all work no play anyway, so maybe later inspiration will strike me.
