Wayne Sadler 559 Posted July 12, 2016 Good painters are not burdened by details, the scourge of photography. For a painter, what is not important (does not contribute to the overall unity of a painting) never touches the canvas. The photographer has the burden of excising, making often brutal decisions to crop, mask or erase often beautiful but inharmonious elements that the camera has so dutifully recorded. BelaMolnar 2 Posted July 12, 2016 I agree with your statement, attached here. I'm a painter myself. If you painted this image it would be great, If it is a photograph, . . . . . . . . . . . .-BLM Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 559 Posted July 13, 2016 Thanks, Bela. I struggle with that same sentiment. I wish my paintings were like this. Interestingly, my painting and photography are beginning to inform each other. Link to comment
