Wouter Willemse 851 Posted July 9, 2016 I like the almost-symmetry in this one. Everything seems in balance, but a closer look reveals it's all just illussion. It kind of manages to delay the dynamics in the image, almost as if the sense of movement, the sense of moving to the next frame in the movie is like a predator hiding in the bushes where you can't see it, until you squint your eyes. michaellinder 16,613 Posted July 12, 2016 I am grateful for your insightful - indeed, poetic - comments. It has taken me some time so far to determine how best to respond, and so far I'm stilling working on it. Link to comment
michaellinder 16,613 Posted September 10, 2016 After looking at this image a few more times, I think I understand your comments. They appear to address the relationship between the static (the two trains, the station, and the lights) and the dynamic - the passengers walking down the tunnel without a viewer knowing which train is their destination. This relationship also can be thought of as between the actual and the potential. Personally I find most of the interest in the two passengers closest to the foregrounds. Tony Brandstetter 814 Posted September 10, 2016 Well done, the lines leading the pedestrians is well done the rails and light, the scene starting out dark and getting lighter as they move forward Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted September 11, 2016 Good choice to use b/w, it brings out the gritty atmosphere. The figures work well as they walk in lock-step to the daily grind... Mike Link to comment
