thank you very much for your input.

the scene you see here is very typical: one parent is caring for the small chicks in the nest, the other one is either standing guard, or resting from its flight to find food.

as nature goes, I do't think applying your suggestion would very much 'improve' the image as birds usually do not pose as human beings do for picture taking.

from an aesthetic point of view, your suggestion would probably do well for a situation where one would like to see the big birds in a graphically well-balanced situation - which could either be natural, or also happening by accident.

anyway, that's all a matter of individual tastes & thus bound to lead to contradictions.

yes, when Mother Nature invades a human settlement, the difference beween rural & urban can easily be vague or undefinable. 

I'm glad you appreciate this image of birds that are subject of so many tales in european folklore.
