I really like your composition adn the juxtaposition of the white sky with the colorful building. Others may not see it the same, but for me, the white on the right creates interest. Well done.

Only the white sky bothers me, Sam! I would put a different sky!

the sky was white indeed, as so oft in these parts.

Putting in a blue Mediterranean sky would create a fake image.

Life outside is what it is, you've to accept weather conditions; some like that & others don't ;-)

Such is life under the sky on this round globe which, perhaps, some would like to be flat & rectangular...

Sam, as you could tell from my earlier comment, I think the contrasting sky adds tension to the image. A blue sky would make a pleasing complement to the orange building but the story is the bird and why he is sheltering from the elements. Your tall crop and treatment works for me. My $.02 for what its worth...
