PC problems at the moment hence my reluctant absence from PN. But managed to

get it working long enough to post this one I took last weekend.. To the PC repair shop

tomorrow...and then who knows : - ) This one was taken at 04.35 am. A lake formed

by a glacier at sunrise. Your thoughts and comments are always appreciated. Thank

You

A great and so very beautiful colored view where the black and the golden colors playing a major role.

Wow, when I saw the thumbnail I thought, that's sorta nice; but when viewed large it came alive.  Amazing lighting that you've captured perfectly.  Another fantastic image from the motherland (sorry, we're observing July 4th this weekend) ;-).

Think it's time to trade that TRS-80 computer in on a new one? ;-)... Mike

Just gorgeous Alf.  The sun peaking through the low clouds and hills is lovely.  You were well rewarded for your early outing.

Best, David

A real beauty Alf, the light is amazing and warm. You have just the right amount of foreground elements to keep it interesting. Your composition is delightful. I love the small rays of sun streaming over the mountain. This really must go into my faves.

Best Always, Holger

This is a beautiful composition, Alf.  There is a lot of life in -- so many things happening.  I especially adore the sense of burning hot from the sun against the cool grey clouds.  It is so effective especially with the V shapes leading the eyes from the burning water out into the hot, dry mountains and beyond.  The sharp vegetation punctuates texturally and with soothing green colors.  Feels hopeful.

Insomnia has to have some advantages : - ) It was an amazing few minutes and I managed to get about 3 decent shots. As for the TRS-80,  I have only just upgraded to it! : - )

Cheers Mike!

Thank you so much!  I was at the location for around 4 hours in total and didn't see another human being until just after that on my way back down. Pure Bliss!

I am truly honoured that you have chosen this as a favourite. Thank You!

It was a beautiful morning, just the sounds of the numerous waterfalls, a few sheep, and the crows. Heaven on earth!

I am truly most fortunate to have locations like this within 2 hours drive from my home.  I always return mentally refreshed and invigorated, albeit physically tired from these trips.

This picture has definitely got your trade mark, a very sharp foreground that leads into a scenery of magical light. The sunburst is nice. Well done yet again, my friend.

(PS I hope your computer troubles will be over soon).

Best, Dimitris.

I'm quite glad you've acquired another device.  This will ensure more of your work coming our way.

To me, this image contains the perfect mix of abstraction and "reality" (the word in quotes to avoid begging any questions).  The top third of the image, if circumstances were different, could have been the result of a mirror image technique.  It's made even more abstract, in my opinion, by the cloud cover (perhaps fog) over the mountains in the top right, and also by the absence of even a hint of ripples in the water.  Yet, the viewer comfortably can return to reality by concentrating on the reeds in the bottom left.

Brilliant work, as always . .

My apologies for my late response!

The mist element in this case was early morning low clouds, that continually shifted and moved over the mountains.

I like your observations and description. Yes I agree the deeper one travels "into" the image, the more fantasy like it becomes!

My Sincere thanks for sharing your thoughts, very much appreciated!

It was but a fleeting moment, I managed to get three shots then the mists converged and the sun disappeared.  I did get some other shots as you have seen at this location, but none quite so dramatic as this one.

Thank you  so much for your thoughtful comments and kind words!
