Arrived late at the annual reenactment of the battle of the Little

Bighorn which the Indians called Greasy Grass. Not a good position,

and could have used a longer lens, but it worked pretty well. Part of a

portfolio with Custer at the Greasy Grass. Comments, criticism

appreciated!

At Appomattox, where the American Civil War ended, at the house of Wilmer McClain after Lee and Grant signed the truce, the union solders gutted the house for souvenirs.  The table that Grand sat at was given to Mrs Custer as a gift because George was so well respected. Mrs. donated that table to the Smithsonian.

As the joke goes, who was the first person to where an Arrow shirt? Custer.
