Link to comment

dgv 1 Posted June 23, 2016 In this environmental portrait Kakou is making traditional cheese, in an environment that is not approved by the European Union....not for resale any way. Brussels have cost her her job. Thank you for viewing and any comments will be appreciated. (You can view it larger). Link to comment
Saadsalem 74 Posted June 23, 2016 Then EU haven't approved traditions, at least this way of making cheese, in my country the health administration have not approved the traditional way of making cheese as healthy. Good document. Regards. Link to comment
dgv 1 Posted June 24, 2016 Mehmet, thank you very much. Saad, tradition is the wisdom of the ages. I agree with you, it looks unhygienic, but it is the best I have ever tried. Her customers were hundreds of people from all over the Island and as far as I know nobody suffered any ill effects..:-). I watched the whole process, from milking her goats and sheep, depositing the milk in stainless steel containers, strained it through a fine muslin cloth, washed her hands and finally the milk was boiled etc. Talking about the EU, it over legislates and I am not so sure that the legislators have a well informed opinion. To day the results of the referendum were announced and England is getting out of the EU. One politician called it 'Independence day'. My guess is that other member countries will follow and the EU will become a European trade union only. Thank very much you for your visit and comment. Doug, It is very nice of you to say so, thank you very much for taking the time. Pierre, thank you very much, also. Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted June 24, 2016 Politics aside, this is a superb casual portrait; the lady's expression is priceless and the b/w tones are (IMO) outstanding. Well done... Mike Link to comment
