Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted June 14, 2016 Larger view preferred. This is a 2006 image that I revisited and converted to B&W. The camera was an old Canon point and shoot, just that. This is Southwestern Washington near Walla Walla and the Columbia River. it's a practice to burn wheat fields after harvest. The burn cloud and tiny farm implement seemed to make an interesting image with the billowing smoke in the sky. Your comments are appreciated. Larry Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted June 14, 2016 It's actually quite beautiful, Larry. The smoke is curling just right, and the foreground is rich in detail, especially with the lighter grass contrasting against the plants behind them. --Lannie Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted June 14, 2016 Lannie, Thanks for your visit and compliments. More and more I realize that its how we see images and what we want to communicate with them that matters. I appreciate your looking at this one. Larry Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted June 14, 2016 Whoops, made a mistake in the description of this image. It's in Southeastern Washington. Thanks. Larry Link to comment
M_Lipakis 3 Posted June 14, 2016 The sky and the smoke is a disaster Larry. You either oversharpened or overcompressed the image and the magic of the twisting - whirling smoke is totaly gone. The foreground is too dark. If you have the original i think it worths processing it again. Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted June 24, 2016 Beautiful Larry. I even think I see a large serpent in the sky which seems to be a reasonable conclusion since there is smoking involved. I would be "Leary" about that conclusion.. Link to comment
