Christoph - this is a beautifully seen, composed and exposed picture. My one comment would be, can you tone down the highlights on the leaves on the sapling, and on the areas at top right and bottom left; they distract a little from the mood.

I agree, John, the blown highlights are a bit distracting. I dialed them down quite a bit already. Unfortunately the picture was quickly taken while on a geology fieldtrip. My main job was to take pictures of the participants. So I had the camera in auto. The people were mostly in the shade (staring - oops examining - rocks), so I tried to overexpose them a bit to get better portraits. Unfortunately I did not catch the blown highlights for this image.
