SILENCIO

The Monastery of Santa Catalina (Saint Catherine) was built in 1579 and was enlarged in the 17th century. The monastery was built predominantly in the Mudéjar style and is characterized by its vividly painted walls.

This is a beautiful depiction of a passage in the monastery. One can get drawn in by the red abstraction but the one word admonition snaps you back to reality.

The red makes for an eye catching image, but why is it red?
