The Yucca are in full bloom, out this morning with the DF and 55 /3.5

Macro. Sun in and out behind the clouds. Found quite a few things

other than these which are in the folder. C&C appreciated!

Not as clear and sharp as it should be Sandy, macro is a bitch, it requires absolute techical quality to start with, then color, composition and an interesting theme. Never the less, keep on shooting Sandy.

Michail -- it could certainly be sharper, you are right.  I am working into Macro, and this was hand held in a fairly precarious location.  What disturbs me though, is that when I convert pictures that are sharp to post, I am getting visibly less quality. The original is better. Using NX 2 at max quality, these 700 pixels on the long side.  Anyway, I'll keep at it.  Thanks, Sandy

I like the composition in the bottom 85 % of the frame.  Unfortunately the point of focus is in the top 15 % of the frame behind the stem of the uppermost full bloom.  If you use such a narrow dof and do so hand held, your point of focus is going to be haphazard at best. Work done this close in needs a tripod, no breeze and precise focusing. Otherwise getting a good image is  by chance.

Gordon, thanks -- where I was, a tripod wasn't possible.  Not fond of them anyway, but will need to use them more for this kind of thing.  Yes, a breeze as well.  Working on macro, haven't done much! Was actually at 400 / F 8 on these. It is always a swap F stop & shutter speed. I have plenty of these flowers near the house, will try again soon! Best, Sandy
