A small part of the sandstone walls and ceilings inside Lichfield

Cathedral. The walls of the Nave lean outwards slightly due to the

weight of stone used in the ceiling vaulting's. Some 200-300 tons of

which was removed during renovation work to prevent the walls

leaning further. All comments very welcome, thank you.

Ken,

twice now in the past two days or so your image was either right below or above this image of the Eiffel tower. I find the similarities striking. As far as your image goes: it captures the intent of the Gothic architects very well. Everything is shooting upwards. The composition is marvelous (your and theirs) and so is the texture in the stone. A beautiful photograph!
