Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted May 28, 2016 Please view larger. Greg and Tony, I revised the image to improve the lower left corner, better? My verdict is that the image just isn't up to my standards. I appreciate your helpful advice. Larry Link to comment
benjamin_kim 0 Posted May 29, 2016 I like this image a lot! The details in the rock face are outstanding and the way the water flows works well for me. I think a high contrast b&w might work even better as the lighting is a little subdued. It might make this an even stronger image. Link to comment
gfisch9862 0 Posted May 30, 2016 Larry,The lower corner is better. Maybe go just a bit darker?I'm not sure if too much of the bottom is missing now, but the brighter water at the bottom is more pronounced. Possibly, burning the bottom a bit overall and dodging the upper fall might help. For fun, go WAY OVERBOARD on the burning and dodging and try adding a dark vignette. Play with it and you might surprise yourself. Don't feel obliged to resubmit your new versions, but try things out. You would be surprised what you learn by going beyond reasonable limits! There's a guy online doing Photoshop and Lightroom training videos who adds seemingly random light spots by dodging. While I don't recommend doing that as a standard practice, it does open up some new possibilities.Greg Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted June 3, 2016 Greg, Many thanks for your comment and ideas. I do tinker in PS and LR a great deal, but think I will let this image be for now and put my efforts in to other, better images. I appreciate your well considered advice. Larry Link to comment
