Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted May 27, 2016 Larger view available. I did my best to create an interesting image here at Watkins Glen Gorge in the Finger Lakes of New York, as I forgot my tripod at home. I softened the water by lower the clarity in PS CC. How did I do? Your comments on salvaging a situation like this would be appreciated? Thanks. Larry Link to comment
sjmurray 33,569 Posted May 27, 2016 I think your composition is good. The scene has wonderful textures and forms. I think a little more saturation might add to the appeal. Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted May 27, 2016 A great pov Larry, at first glance I thought the water was flowing away from us then I viewed large and not only did I see the water flowing toward us, I was also treated to some good details in the rockwork. Fine image.Best Regards, Holger Link to comment
gfisch9862 0 Posted May 27, 2016 Great detail and textures. You might want to consider burning the lower left corner a bit. It's light value tends to draw the eye there and diminishes the focal point. Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted May 28, 2016 Magnificent! Love all of the rock details and the water. Re bottom left corner, I agree with darkening it. After that, you might want to consider cropping a small portion of the image at the bottom to the point where that bottom left hand corner is gone. All the best, Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted May 28, 2016 Steve, Thanks for the comment. I tried the image with more saturation and decided it was too yellow. To me, the image is more natural looking as it is. I appreciate your view on this though. Larry Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted May 28, 2016 Holger, Thanks for the vote of approval on this image. I could have done much more with it, had I had my tripod. I appreciate your connection. Larry Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted May 28, 2016 Greg and Tony I agree with you both about the left corner. I reduced the exposure here, but I can see it is not enough. I'll play with it a bit more as you recommend. Thanks to you both. Larry Link to comment
