Larger view available. I did my best to create an interesting image here at

Watkins Glen Gorge in the Finger Lakes of New York, as I forgot my tripod

at home. I softened the water by lower the clarity in PS CC. How did I do?

Your comments on salvaging a situation like this would be appreciated?

Thanks. Larry

I think your composition is good.  The scene has wonderful textures and forms.  I think a little more saturation might add to the appeal.

A great pov Larry, at first glance I thought the water was flowing away from us then I viewed large and not only did I see the  water flowing toward us, I was also treated to some good details in the rockwork. Fine image.

Best Regards, Holger

Great detail and textures.  You might want to consider burning the lower left corner a bit.  It's light value tends to draw the eye there and diminishes the focal point.

Magnificent! Love all of the rock details and the water. Re bottom left corner, I agree with darkening it.  After that, you might want to consider cropping a small portion of the image at the bottom to the point where that bottom left hand corner is gone.

All the best,

Steve,  Thanks for the comment.  I tried the image with more saturation and decided it was too yellow.  To me, the image is more natural looking as it is.  I appreciate your view on this though.  Larry

Holger,   Thanks for the vote of approval on this image.  I could have done much more with it, had I had my tripod.  I appreciate your connection.  Larry

Greg and Tony   I agree with you both about the left corner.  I reduced the exposure here, but I can see it is not enough.  I'll play with it a bit more as you recommend.   Thanks to you both.  Larry
