heartbreaking story with a bit of a silver lining; in addition to saving the Kangis, rescue dogs were also credited in pulling a lone Katakana photographer from certain death. Mangled but resolute, the Katakana later said he’d be returning to the mountain soon as the shutter finger mends.

I went to the Chicago Art Institute last week and saw an exhibition of Aaron Siskind's abstracts.  (The CAI has an extensive collection of Siskind's work) One of the informational panels referred to the animated quality (faces, figures, a pareidolia-like effect, although that was not the term they used) of some of his abstracts.  I immediately thought of you and how I get that same sensation from much of your abstract work of everyday objects.  Interestingly, this particular photograph reminds me a lot of Siskind.
