High water this Spring sweeps the bank of the Mississippi and the

trees growing right on the edge often find their roots washed bare,

hence, they topple.

There is always such a sense of quiet in your nature pictures, Steve. The only sound you hear is the hum of insects and the splash of an occasional fish. I wonder if the tree made any noise at all as it fell into the river.
