I've never thought i would feel sorry for an umbrella Jack, never, yet you made me to!

A PHOTOGRAPH with the humblest materials.

This is just too much, with so little. The forlorn umbrella is priceless, absolutely priceless. Best regards.

Thanks for the words on this picture. These cheap plastic umbrellas (400 yen or about $3.50) are often discarded after the rain has passed though seldom abandoned in the middle of the street as this one was. I remember seeing it and snapping the shot but I didn't give it much more than a moment's thought; it's not exactly a rare sight. But there's something about the shape and the appearance of the umbrella (almost like a negative image) in the geometry of the street that really appealed to me when I looked at it later..

Once again you make me 'see' even more within an image. :) Had this umbrella not been discarded, you may have not noticed this spot at all. While exploring the streets of our city this summer I know I will be more aware of what 'lies beneath my feet - with eyes wide open". Thanks for that Jack.

Wonderful contrast between the umbrella and the ground. ,Somebody sure is going to miss that beautiful umbrella. Great colors, light and composition. Best regards, Paul.

Paul, it's not often that a member spends so much time going through another member's portfolio and commenting. I appreciate it very much. Regards, Jack
