Still smoking ?? Or is this the place outside the bar where one is allowed to smoke. Anyway smoking is also a stylish relic. Beautiful chairs, colorful!

Great comp.  I don't know that they are 'relics' ?  On all the renovating of homes shows that are on TV now, they are going back to chairs like these to use around tables etc.  Personally I find them too modern and 'cold' looking for inside a home, but it seems to be a trend.  But I can understand why you thought it - the chairs seem like 'people' surrounding the smoking table - meant to be there, almost like afternoon tea :)

Pure projection, but it reminds me of my mother's "ladies' Bible study" where the attendees had gravity-defying Jiffy-Pop hairdos and shockingly neon lipstick.  Forget the fishes and loaves.  The real miracle is what can be done with a can of Aqua-Net and spackle.  All in the name of Christ.

Look at your bridge picture again. That is the young lady from that image following you around, except this time, she is sitting in the middle with that silly mask grinning fiendishly at you with your camera.

Funny but that's how I saw it, too. Those chairs are too animated to be merely receptacles for fat butts. They have their own lives like a bunch of what I call "old dolls" - people like my aunt who never even realized that she had grown old but was as coquettish as ever right up to the end.
