Jack McRitchie 150 Posted May 13, 2016 This is great, Lannie, a shot of a suburban neighborhood at dusk. Great timing here with still some light left in the sky but the street life illuminating the foreground. Your latest shots seem more iconic yet in some ways more personal. Your familiarity and comfort with your environment comes through clearly. Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted May 14, 2016 Jack, you know well that photography is about illusion. We create a fictional world when we frame something and abstract it from reality. I simply snap where I am for as long as I am there. These shots look like my world but do not feel that way. My world is/was in a different time and place. --Lannie Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted May 14, 2016 But since you were the one that selected and framed, it is reflective of your point of view whether you identify with this particular world or not. I grow increasingly susceptible to philosophical ramblings the older I get. As for our "reality", I'm not sure if such a thing objectively exists in the first place. Link to comment
