I have an image of you running about town looking for unique images, clicking here, clicking there. I like your perspective on this one. The way the moisture covers some of the ground and the post rising up to us.

I would day you have over 60K images in your data base, am I even close ?

Changing one's perspective inevitably leads to one's considering other possible views about the nature of the world.  This image has motivated me to engage in my own private philosophical dialogue.  Whether I actually may arrive at any conclusions is another story.

It's the geometry - form, line, space - that hooked me.

Thanks for the comments and the interesting observations.

Herman - Love those back alleys. I'm always curious what lies around the corner.

Tatjana - Thanks, as always. And again, as always, I repeat MORE PICTURES!

Tony - You're right, I do shoot an awful lot of pictures. I love taking my camera and wandering around with no particular agenda. I would say I've whittled the number of pictures in my data base down to 35-40 k. I take so many pictures that it becomes overwhelming at times just going through them. Also the time I spend processing individual pictures has doubled or tripled. It's kind of fun to sit at the computer and attempt to fine tune a promising image but all in all, I'd rather be outside shooting. I'm about a year and 3 months behind in my editing. Tiring.

Michael - Thanks for your observations. At times I get very frustrated with pn because it seldom approaches the promise that it showed six-seven years ago when it was a real community of creative artists. I recently paid my dues for another year after some serious consideration of not doing so. The main reason was for the access to the comments and exchanges with fellow photographers over the past 11 years or so that otherwise would be lost. One of the main reasons for belonging to a community like this is for mutual creative stimulation. If we're not encouraging and inspiring one another, what's the point?

I've looked at this image over 20 times, and I still can't figure out how you saw it. Everything appears connected, yet, it is a three dimensional image of so many disparate elements that, somehow seem logical next to each other, like rock and sand and water on the beach as if some giant deity created them that way.

Thanks for the comments. One of the things about pn is the possibility of learning from other photographers. I remember some advice I got from another photographer, Markku Salonen, who posts much too infrequently nowadays. I was always struck by the refrshingly unique points of view in his work. He said when you have taken the picture, step back and look at it from other perspectives and you might see something that would make an even more compelling shot. Such was the case here. That's the whole point of this site, or at least the potential that I see, a kind of web equivalent of the cafe's in Paris or New York or London where in earlier times artists and creative sorts of every stripe would gather to argue, float their latest ideas and trade opinions. There is no doubt that we stimulate and influence each other even if we are not consciously aware of the fact. The exchange of opinions and ideas is the juice that makes me go.
