Juvenile Night Heron - Olympus EM1 + Lumix/Leica 100-400mm @167mm - 1/500, F6.3 & ISO 500 - Handheld shot! -He just happen to fly by while I am on my way to the car. So, I pull back my zoom and shoot .. voila!

Thanks Chris! I've been missing shot like this the last 2 days and yesterday afternoon a friend who shoot Olympus shown me some focus setting and I think a change in that help me getting this shot since it's 1,2 second type of shot that require instance reflex such that only a light weight zoom setup like this can capture .

Hi Bob, Happy to hear from you! that box focus makes a huge different to my style of shooting.  I only set to a small point only when I really need to.

Thanks Wobby! It's a pleasant supprise to get this image since I've been having problem getting flying bird a few days before this. When I first got the camera I was getting everything I shoot at (as though I was still shooting my Canon 7D Mark II) and then a few days afterward something change and I keep getting blurry shot of bird flying toward me. That is until my friend Bob shown me show me the diff. focusing mode. On the 7D Mark II I always use one single center point but on this EM1 I get the equivalent behavior with a box focus and the single point was only for precise focus. Just diff. system, diff. behavior!
