Jack, I like your title the way it is because I too was struck by the irony between the pleasant associations normally made with the word "picnic" and the odd and disturbing confines of where this one is actually taking place.  Strong and vaguely disturbing (a sense of unease with this location) in juxtaposition to the word "picnic".

Thanks for taking the time to comment. Yeah, I agree Steve, all a bit surreal, like something out of a Michelangelo Antonioni film. In fact, the older I get the more bizarre it all seems. Maybe not such a bad place to be for a photographer.
