Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted May 6, 2016 Larger view available. Graffiti is an art form in Colombia, and permissions are granted to paint them. This and the previous graffiti mural is painted across the street from a significant church in Cartagena, Colombia. Religion, satire, protest, and masterful art come my mind as a viewer. This image is certainly the most amazing piece of graffiti I have seen. I am interested in your views about the subject matter as well as the image. Thanks. Larry Link to comment
trihelm1 3 Posted May 6, 2016 Larry. Aside from the description " graffiti " and in answer to your comment on views about the subject matter ~ I tend to call this sort of thing Street Art, and I have recently tried to make a point of photographing all of the high quality examples of this that I come across.I think it is, in itself, a very valid subject ( perhaps within "Street photography" ) and well worth documenting. Some of it is of very high quality and also and perhaps more importantly socially significant and in very many cases, is at best only semi permanent. Your capture of the image is very effective , I cant read the language and would be fascinated to know the subject ~ it's clearly ( I think ) religious. Rgds. Rick Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted May 6, 2016 Great that you have documented this art form which is less graffiti than wall-born comic book (manga) or illustrated novel. Link to comment
