Landrum Kelly 64 Posted May 5, 2016 Please tell me which is better, this version or the first versionphoto_id=18228102 . --Lannie Link to comment
dianedh 7 Posted May 5, 2016 I like the other one best. I think you lose too much detail in this one. Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted May 5, 2016 I might have darkened it too much (although in fact more went into it than mere reduction in brightness). It is possible to bring back some of the detail in the shadows with the Shadows/Hightlights filter in Photoshop. The question for me is whether I can get what I want in post, or whether I shall have to go back and reshoot it an hour later. Getting the same sky will not be possible, of course, and so I would like to be able to approach the effect of a later afternoon shot using post processing of the shot I actually did get. The darker, contrastier version obviously shows much more shadow noise. --Lannie Link to comment
Saadsalem 74 Posted May 5, 2016 I haven't seen the other one mentioned in the above comment,I easly connect the image title to the real monolith of the space Odyssey, so to be more effective as that one except for the color,I would clone the shadows over the white object completely, if the image was mine. Landrum Kelly 64 Posted May 6, 2016 That would be a better picture indeed, Saad, but what a long, tortuous job! --Lannie Link to comment
