Mrs Anna Hummingbird - Olympus OMD EM1 + Lumix/Leica 100-400mm - 1/1000, F6.3 & ISO 2000 @400mm (800mm in 35 format) - Handheld shot!I was testing the EM1 + Kipon adapter with my Canon 500mm lens last night at home and had the ISO at 2000. Forgot to adjust down and got a bit noisy with this shot. .. but it's nothing that I can not fix because I've owned the noise making Olympus E410 before (never could shoot over 200 ISO with that camera with out getting mucho noise).

Tm; I'm with Mike... Your bird shots are both beautiful and an inspiration. Well done. I'd love to see what you can do with the noise, and then tell us how you did it.

Thanks Mr. Mancil!

Thanks David! There's no great secret on cleaning up noise, in birdshooting we normally clean up the noises in the background and not the bird since that would 'smooth' up the bird (and strip off all those feather details) . So, I run a noise reduction software (in this case NoiseNinja) with PhotoShop as a plug in. Basically, I select the background and run noise reduction to make the image clean but don't run noise reduction on the bird since if I do so the bird would be stripped of details and becomes .. 'smooth' .
