James G. Dainis 300 Posted May 1, 2016 Very nice job of capturing the silver look of the clouds. My thinking on the composition is that this is a photo that cries out to "flip the negative". The compositional flow would be better with the large tree on the left hand side, in my opinion. Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted May 1, 2016 Thank you, James. Frankly, I have never understood the "flip the negative" recommendation, since I don't "read" a photo left to right or left to right. --Lannie Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted May 1, 2016 I looked at it and knew it was yours right away. Not that you have a stereotyped approach but the pictures are so obviously the way you view things. You used to do more pictures with people in them but recently they have all gone somewhere else and now only the land and the buildings remain. I really like this one; don't fool around with it like you always do :-)) Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted May 2, 2016 Thanks, Jack. I actually made it a bit more high-key and brighter than it came out of the camera, after first going in the darker, contrastier direction (in a color version that I have since deleted). --Lannie Link to comment
