Thunderstorm in the Distance

The looming thunderstorm introduces a darker note to the pastoral setting and a heightened sense of coming drama. You can here the faint electric whine of of insects and sometimes a faraway bird song. Not much else, not even the sound of the wind through the trees. The stillness immobilizes me.

A routine sight here in Alabama but always impressive.  Don't you just love that Sony?  It's quite an amazing camera... Mike

Very poetic, Jack.  You're dead on, except that it was moving away and from left to right--but others would come in the evening.

 

Mike, as a matter of fact, I do think that that Sony is a great little camera.  I haven't retired my Nikons, but that camera gets more use than anything else in the house. 

 

In addition, I can put it in my briefcase!

I like the scene and the clouds. On one thought I might have eliminated the posts at the bottom but on another tangent, they almost anchor the image.
