Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted April 27, 2016 Large view preferred. Monserrate is a mountain that dominates Bogotá, capital of Colombia. Dating back to the 1620's, the top of the hill was used for religious prayer. The name comes from the Virgin Morena, hence Monserrate. In the 19th century Monserrate was dedicated to El Señor Caido, fallen lord, but it retains the name Monserrate. Thanks for your comments and critiques. Larry Link to comment

Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted April 28, 2016 Patsy, Thanks for viewing this image as well. it was tough photographing up here because of intense haze. I did my best to turn the haze into an artistic element. I appreciate your comment. Larry Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted April 28, 2016 Holger, Thanks for your comment on this image too. There's not much on Colombia on PN. The country offers much to see and photograph. Tourism is becoming one of Colombia's chief industries. I am pleased with this image given the haze I mentioned to Patsy above. Larry Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted June 4, 2016 Like it. I guess there are a couple of places in the world with a "Montserrat' name. I know of one in the Caribbean and another in Spain. By the way, an enjoyable scene and well captured. Link to comment
