Thanks for viewing/comments! At close distance this camera focusing system

sometimes .. just go to sleep and I would have to aim somewhere (down the ground,

up the tree) to get focus and lead the lens back to the bird to shoot. That reduce my

keeper rate but I still get some .. in focus.

My  Sony does that sometimes- I attributed it to using a lens adaptor for the canon lens, but you don't have that excuse :) No idea why. Never happened with the canon cameras...G

LOL, Greg & Verena, I know full well the problem with the Sony since I have 3 of them (A7R , A7 & A6300). I sold my A6000 and bought the A6300 recently because of all the hype on good focus but so far this GX8 + Lumix/Leica 100-400mm focus a lot better. Only issue is 'sleeping focus' which Mr. Daniel Cox who has some Panasonic connection already reports to Panasonic.  My question for you is 'Do you have a metabone adapter or do you use something else (like I do - a Commlite) ?
