Boy are you speedy!  I never was answering an email in the midst of posting this one!  This bee puzzled me.  It's body looked like it was all 'dried up' or perhaps some kind of liquid got on it and it dried in the sun.  I love bees, our population where I live has dwindled like many places, hoping this year it will be different. Thanks so much Jack for stopping by!

This is a capture I took in the summer of 2014. I had been observing

this bee as it darted about because it's body between the wings had

a dried out appearance. I guess bees can get dehydrated - but I

have never seen a bee like this. Or perhaps it was a very old bee? I

hope the population increases this year. This was taken at our local

Ecology Park.

Great close up Gail. The colors and details viewed larger are very good. Another sign that spring is finally arriving. The details in the bees' wings stand out here.

Best Always, Holger

thanks so much Bill. It is a flower that grows in our Ecology Park. I am not sure of the name, perhaps this years I will be able to ask one of the workers.

Sincere thanks for your visit Holger.  While this shot was taken last summer, for me it is inspiration of what I can look forward to if it ever gets that warm!! Things are warming up on the odd day, 11 degrees on Sunday when I want to have a Barbacue for my Granddaughters 15th birthday....maybe it will change - sure would be nice for the kids to have some fun outside!
