Uh, which is which? :-)  Sorry, it's Friday and something evil came over me, LOL.  Other than the mirror and camera style this is timeless, an image often attempted but rarely as well executed as this... Mike

Funny, I was just on a road trip and took a drive from Joshua Tree up 395 to Mono Lake. The rock formations at Joshua Tree are quite amazing and then 395 is mostly a lot more humble, with shacks and other detritus along the way. But there is something about a good eye and a camera that can be a great equalizer, calling our attention literally to whatever in making something visually stimulating.

Out of the city and into the good old inaka.   Right moment.  Got yourself by the most interesting structure of the day.  Seems like your artistic statement: Ars Photografica.  Nice,

Thanks for the comments on this one;

MLM - I'm the one without the hair. Oh, wait a minute, I guess that doesn't help much.

Fred - Yeah, I take these shots every once in a while and as much as they amuse me, I don't usually post them. This time I thought the contrast between the fool with the camera and the rock pile and background was interesting enough to post. I have another one with just the rocks and background which is pretty good, too, but lacks the human interest of yours truly.

Alex - I try to escape the confines of the loony bin known as Osaka every now and then. A day in Nara is just the ticket. I admire your Latin skills

Good thinking on this one!!!  You are almost a 'tourist' !  There is a place in Virginia called Rocky Gap - I'd say this place is 'Rocky Jack'. :)

Jack, I was beginning to think you walked (or biked) everywhere.

I'm sitting here wondering how far this is from downtown Osaka.

Thanks for the comment. Rockhead Jack is more like it. Lannie, this is about a 40 minute train ride from Osaka where I live. Nara is a bordering prefecture and is largely open and rural in contrast to Osaka's concrete, claustrophobic mess.
