To give a size reference of this very young small species, he is about

1 1/3 inches long, snout to vent. I had this setup for the first worm

to get him warmed up, and I fully intended to pull the wood with the

worm on it farther away for this shot for a longer tongue, but he

didn't give me a chance. I barely got my hand out of the way after

placing the worm before he snagged it.

Hi Scott

Amazing shot again - still don't know how you manage that! According to your tape measure, however, looks like  1  1/3 in would be from his nose to front legs, about. Tongue looks just as long as body plus tail!

Thanks guys.

It's kind of deceiving since I was at slightly different distances and the marks are hard to make out with such small pictures. I also took the tape picture the day before to compare with this next picture, so I had the tape in a hard to compare spot for the one I posted. The end of the tape is pretty much right at the same spot as his vent in this one. You can kind of measure off that and it comes to close to 1 1/3" to his nose.

I have seen such great shots only in the BBC series.

Really a talented shots, worth the staging, efforts, and time.

Best regards.
