Captain Smith master of the ill-fated Titanic ship. The bronze statue

of Edward John Smith stands in Beacon Park Lichfield. It shows him

in defiant pose, reminding us of his famous last words "Be British".

A well composed tribute Ken. Those fabulous white clouds are in just the right formation so as to provide a great background to this scene. Good work.

An outstanding image, which pays fitting homage to Captain Smith's "stiff upper lip."  From your vantage point, and ours, the status back looks almost human owing to the tonal contrasts and detail.  An amazing scene, most expertly captured . . .

My best,

I think he have exchanged his life for this sculpture, and much more important, the glory that came with,Immortality.

What I have liked in your composition is that you have done it to show his face is directed to the church, literally a symbolism of faith, not necessarily the Christian faith rather than his faith when he dies trying to fulfill, not to mention the purly white clouds which adds to this meaning.

The glory's back serves no less than the front, that is all what glory means.

I liked this meaningful work.

My regards.
