I suspect that all sorts of mythological tales may arise from this amazing image.  Personally, I favor the possibility that a goddess from another dimension has decided to make her appearance to us.  She is here not to direct our lives, indeed, not even to be interested in our lives, except for one aspect.  She is here to teach us about the relationship between beauty and mystery.

Maurizio, this image may make others of its ilk pale by comparison. Aside from its possible story lines, it's the composition that does it for me.  The subject has a very interesting appearance; although her head is facing right only to a slight extent, her eyes clearly are directed to something way off in her periphery.  To me this heightens the intrigue the image contains.  Also, the subject's long hair isn't necessarily identifiable as hers alone; it is so mingled with the tree branches that it appears to be part of the forest.

An extraordinary image - no doubt a favorite . . .

My best,

michael
