The Gift - Take Two

Thanks Jack. I have softened the image a bit from last weeks color post of the same image. I have also softened the color image and like it better. I think when a digital capture has as much fine detail as this one, they don't reproduce so well, especially on the small screen, but I think in print form softening helps as well even with a larger print of say 13x19. To do this I am moving away from using the Ortin Effect and adding more of a slight glow.

Hi Paul, I had the same thought as Jack did about it looking like a very detailed illustration! I bet there was a faery just outside the frame. To me this is an inspiring image, and very nicely done. Best regards, Marieke

Exceptional image. The sharpness, balanced contrast and DOF are of a very high quality. With all due respect for your work, it somehow reminds me of the superb prints of Ansel Adams. A most unique place, captured to perfection. Congratulations.
