Jenny!  It's called "subtle", a reaction to wildly saturated images that I am currently rebelling against.

Saturated, over-saturated or not, IMPO, in the end Photography, as any other visual or plastic means of expression (think of painting, from the early Baroque to post-modern) aims to create an impression. This muddy, over agitated sea conveys the ominous expectation and the fury of elements. The precise moment denotes careful planning and excellent execution.

Lighting and the colour creates the right mood .  Swirl of the waves creates an oil painting like impression . The muddy sea colour is uncommon  to see . Beautiful image .

The awesome power and unique beauty of water are creatively and skillfully displayed in this image.  You've successfully transmuted ocean spray into a Ferris wheel.
