Image captured in the Hoh Rain Forest of Olympic National Park, Washington state. A

nurse tree falls and provides nourishment for new growth that springs from the fallen

tree. Note the 7 trees rising out of the fallen trunk. Your comments and feedback

requested and always sincerely appreciated.

Nature at it's best. Nice deep rich colours and fine detail. Great composition and use of the light and shade, best regards Ken.

Olympic National Park is on the bucket list but this photograph reflects what I've considered so special about this place.  Majestic and beautiful.  Thanks for sharing... Mike

David this is beautiful and even better when viewed large. You can appreciate the textures more in the large view as well. Good colors and an interesting image.

Ken; Thank you for your feedback and encouragement. I wasn't sure whether to put this one in Nature or Documentary. I'm glad you like it.

Mike; You definitely need to make at trip to Olympic. Be aware that it is enormous, with much driving time between areas of interest. Still, very worth it. Thanks for your interest and comments.

Holger; I'm not sure if I should label my images a "view larger" as do some here. I expect that truly interested folks will automatically check for the larger image. What do you think? Your comments are sincerely appreciated. Thank you.

Laurent; Some images need a few words to make them meaningful, as in this case. I'm a little surprised, but gratified, that people like this one so much. I'm also grateful for your kind words and encouragement.

Tony; Thank you. I'm glad you like it.

G&V; I'm always learning something new, whether in travel or simply interacting with people on this and other sites. Thank you for your interest and kind words.

Michael; I think the last time one of my photos "exuded" anything it was from a Polaroid that was leaking developer;-) Majesty really is a good adjective for the Hoh. It is an amazing place. Thank you for your kind words and comments.

David I would agree, those interested will view large without the prompt, though anyone can forget sometimes.
