Found along the way, US Route 66 in California's Mojave Desert. Comments and

feedback requested and always sincerely appreciated.

Ok David what is it ? A nicely framed image with good light, colours and detail, but no way of telling how large or small this object is. Best regards Ken.

OK, Ken; here's the original source image (reduced in size). The object is a sheep's foot earth compactor. Not terribly enthralling all by itself, but I thought the vignette was rather interesting. Thank you for your time and interest.

I prefer the 2nd image. IMHO - it is more balanced with interesting variation in color and texture at the bottom left. The distant landscape is less bright.

Tony; the prime image came out of optimizing for the No Words forum, under the overlapping shapes topic. I liked it enough, and thought it was sufficiently engaging to post in that form. I, too, think the source image is stronger overall. That's why I captured that view. But, it needs a bit of work in PP to make it worth its own post. Thank you, as always, for your well-considered comments.

To me, this image belongs with other structural abstracts.  I see the subject as a millipede made of rusted iron.  For whatever it's worth,  I find the tonal contrast with the background landscape stunning.

My best,

michael
